I am trying to locate living relatives of Mary Jane Bergin sister of Fr. Michael Bergin, originally of Farncourt Roscrea. Fr Bergin was killed during WW1 and was standing beside my great uncle when a shell landed and wounded both men. Taken to the local military hospital they both died of their wounds on the 12 October 1917. I would like to make contact with any living relatives and I understand that Mary Jane Bergin married John Keane (of Moyvure Westmeath) in Roscrea in 1901 and had four daughters and one son (James Ignatius Keane). If there are any living descendents I am very keen to make contact. Marianne

Can you clarify where the family lived? Was it Roscrea or Mullingar? We have an active volunteer in Roscrea. Also, have you taken a DNA test? If you do take a DNA test, you may get matches with descendants of one or more of the five Keane children. The descendants could be in Ireland, Canada, Australia or the USA.
