HELP! Looking for Kelly family who lived at Four Mile House (Kilbride?)Roscommon(new info from relative).Does anyone know the history of the name and place Four mile house, do other parishes have similar english sounding names.
James Kelly born about 1842 father John Kelly, a farmer, mother might be Mary? My aged grandma said they came to england at the time of the uprising? I have found a John Kelly on the Griffiths valuation list for Mullymucks, Kilbride Parish which looked promising but then I found a John Kelly on the 1901 and 1911 cencus for Mullymucks so now nor sure.
I found on ancestry a birth of james Kelly 9 july 1843 f John Kelly mother Mary Reynolds (Lissonuffy and rc Strokestown Roscommon) and on the online original Kilbride Four mile house register a James kelly born 20 july 1843 to a John Kelly and Bridget Cunningham. Not sure what my next move should be, there are Cunningham families in Bolton, not come across any Reynolds from ire.
BACKGROUND INFO
My Gt Gt Grandfather was James Kelly born in Ireland in about 1842 (marriage cert age 26)He Lived in Bury and later Bolton,Lancashire and married Bridget Ford in nov 1869 at St Maries RC church in Bury-on the cert His father was John Kelly a deceased farmer. There is a marriage in 1871 also at St Maries Bury (possibley James's sister )of Patrick Kilkenny to a Bridget Kelly b1851 the father John Kelly is a deceased farmer and on the parish register the mother appears to be Mary but not sure about that at the moment.Bridget Ford was born in about 1845 and came from Cloonfinlough parish Roscommon and her father Edward Ford was a Chelsea pensioner he was in the british army from 1821 to 1841. They came to Bolton in 1861.

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland for a James Kelly baptismal record with father John. I found one in 1837 in Kilbride parish with mother Mary Allen. I also saw the two records in 1843 that you mention in the third paragraph of your note. The 1843 record with Bridget Cunningham as mother was also in Kilbride parish. Regarding the 1837 record, many emigrants made themselves younger in their new country.
Do you have any info on siblings to James?

Thank you Roger for your response, I will work on the three leads and see where it goes.You asked if I had any info on James Kelly's siblings, I mentioned Bridget kelly, I have double checked and her Mother on the parish register for her marriage to Patrick Kilkenny in 1871 was a Mary Kelly and as Patrick was a witness at my James's marriage and vice versa and also Patrick and Bridget were sponsers to 2 of Jame's Children it looks likely that Bridget b1851 was James's sister. However they disapear from the records in Lancashire and may have emigrated to the USA but I cannot prove it at the moment.other possible siblings are Ellen kelly born abt 1847 in Ireland m James Dowling in 1869 in Bolton, her father was John Kelly deceased farmer.They were also sponsers to two of James's children. Also John Kelly b abt 1836 in ire married Maria forster in 1868 in Bolton his father was John Kelly (parish register). A John Kelly was a sponser to one of james's children.
