Hi there! I'm looking for information on John Reynolds (1834?-1921) and his first wife Mary Connor. They were married in the Church of Ireland in 1858 where he is listed as a Scripture Reader for his occupation but later became a farmer. His address on their marriage certificate lists his residence as Inverin and hers possible is Derg. Mary died early - I have only two of their children Ellen & Martin. Then John married Honor Barrett in 1880. Does anyone know who their parents or offspring are? I have John's dad as William from the Village of Spiddle. Thank you for your help!

Hi Norah,
rootsireland has the marriage of John Reynolds and Mary Connor 1858 in Galway parish Killannin C of I.
There is also a record of a birth of John Reynolds in Galway in 1834 but the father is not William.
You would need to pay for that record to get the parents and parish.
The site has 11 matches for children born to John Reynolds and Mary 1858 + - 20 years in Galway and another 18 in Mayo.

Thanks again Col! Roots Ireland should give you commision for directing people there. I got the weddings of John, baptism records of my g-grandmother & grandfather, plus the home of my gg-grandfather. It's all so exciting to get past the roadblock that I've had for years but, of course, now there is a new one!!! Have a blessed day!

Hi Norah, I have a lot of information on the Reynolds family as my grand uncle married Margaret who was the daughter of John and Nora. My grand aunt also married Martin Reynolds who was a son of John from his first marriage to Mary Connor in St Joseph's Church Spiddle 7th March 1858 . (I have seen the actual register which is available in the RCB library in Dublin) Mary Connor came from close to where I live which is just across the lake from Doon where the Reynolds family lived. John's father was William. If you email me I will forward as much as I can
