My great-grandfather was Patrick Joyce, estimated birth 1845-1852 in Galway, Ireland.

Patrick married on 26 Jan. 1871 in Gorbals, Glasgow, Scotland. His parents were John Joyce, a farm laborer and Bridget Donohue. Witness Maggie Joyce could be his sister. Parents were alive in 1871. No record of Patrick in Glasgow before 1871 or exact date he left Galway.

Seeking:

  1. Baptism for Patrick Joyce (1845-52) in Galway, Ireland with parents John Joyce & Bridget Donohue. Possible sibling Maggie Joyce.
  2. Marriage prior to 1850: John Joyce and Bridget Donohue, in Galway, Ireland.
  3. Would like to find their children and the part of Galway they were from.
  4. Death records of John and Bridget Joyce after 1871.

Would appreciate any help!

  • Thank you. Would the Oranmore Galway Parish have any older baptisms or marriages prior to 1833? Besides Roots Ireland, where else can I check?

Is the Oranmore Parish called something else today or part of another parish?

Death records of John and Bridget Joyce after 1871 should be online Civil Records but I'm not finding images of all are posted which doesn't help when there are many with common names.
