I see what looks to be the civil marriage between Michael M’Cool and Frances Anne Kearney, registered in Inishowen, Apr – Jun 1879 Volume 2, page 103. (A civil marriage cert generally contains more information than the religious one). You can order a photocopy of the certificate from GRO Roscommon for €4 (euros).  http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx

You have to download and print off the form. Then either post or fax it back to them. You can’t e-mail it to them. However if you want them to e-mail the cert to back to you, they will do that, so tick the relevant box.

Tradition was to marry in the bride’s church which should be on the certificate, (unless it was a Registry Office marriage). That church may be the place to look for her baptism and that of any siblings. The RC parish records are on-line free on the National Library site:

I can see at least 1 McCool in Tiernaleague in the current Irish phone book.

Am trying to find descendants of michael mccool & frances kearney who were married in carndonagh in 1879.They came to USA soon after that.
Michael was son of john mccool& mary kearney--frances was daughter of katherine dougherty(b. Approx 1822) & ed kearney(b. Approx 1792)
would anyone have any info on any of descendants of katherine &/or ed?
