Good Morning from Australia.
I am currently doing some family research and I am looking for any information on the family of Roger Kelly (My ancestor ,5 generations).
Roger lived in Lynally and I believe he was a tennant on a small amount of land there.
I believe he was born about 1800 and died in 1890. He married Mary Mooney in about 1822.
Any information or tips for further research you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards

Attached is the Griffith Valuation for Roger Kelly from Lynally
There are other Kellys on there also and also Mooneys.
The Griffith Valuations were carried out between 1847 - 1864 to value all the lands in Ireland - so that the tennant could be taxed accordingly.
Geraldine
Between 1847 and 1864, Richard Griffith was responsible for conducting the Primary Valuation of Tenements (generally referred to a Griffith's Valuation because of his role in the project). The aim of the valuation was to produce a uniform guide to the relative value of land throughout the whole country. The project required Griffith and a team of valuers to determine the value of every piece of land and property in Ireland enabling every occupiers' tax due to be assessed. The information they collated covered all of Ireland was compiled into over 300 volumes and published over a period of 17 years

Geraldine,
That is amazing. So much to explore.
Thanks to you and all the others.
Would there be a Birth record for Michael Kelly, born around 1824?
The date for Rogers death sounds about right.
Again thank you all.

Graham,
I am researching the same people! I traced them my my Mom in Rochester, NY all the way to Roger and Mary. I've found some information and would be happy to share it with you. I have a tree on MyHeritage also.
I have yet to find many primary source documents but believe I have the birth, death, marriage information correct via index items. Also, I think I have found him in Griffith's Valuation 1854 with other Kelly's, Neville's, and Mooney's that are no doubt related. I am currently working on it.
Blessings!

I want to thank everyone who posted information to Graham. You validated and added more information to what I've been able to locate on my own. I am not sure how to post a new message in Ireland XO but will try to figure it out. I plan to visit Ireland next year and would love to connect with any distant relative and visit the area.
I am also working on extending Roger and Mary forward in time and have traced Anne to the Neville family in Austrailia, which I hope is correct.
Blessings to all from Rochester, NY! If this link is still active, I would love to share more information.
