I have seen the gravestone for my great-grandparents, Patrick Kelly and Mary Ellen Egan, in the Ancient Tisrara cemetery. Their stone is picturds on the front of THE TISRARA MEDIEVAL CHURCH, CARROWNTEMPLE, FOUR ROADS, CO. ROSCOMMON published by the Tisrara Heritage and Graveyard Restoration Committee in 1995. Gravestone Inscription #121 in that book is from their stone.
Their 4 sons, Thomas, John, Patrick and James J (my grandfather) all emigrated to the USA in the late 1800s. Family lore suggests that they left 2 sisters behind in Ireland and I have no idea what their last names may have been, assuming they did marry and raise families.
Would love to hear from anyone with any information anyone has on any family members who are still in that area, as well as others who emigrated to USA or other places.

Hi: I also have roots in Tisrara. My gr.gr.gr. grandparents, Patrick Kane and Catherine Dervin, were from there (born abt. 1800 and emigrated to Baltimore MD around 1843). Catherine's obituary specifies Tisrara parish and I find a Patt Kain in Lenanamalla in the 1825 Tithe Applotment records. I'm curious about the publication that you cite with the transcriptions of gravestone inscriptions from Four Roads. My family lore seems to indicate a connection to Four Roads and certainly Lenanamalla is adjacent to Four Roads. I would like to see that publication to see if any of my family names from this area (Kane, Dervin, Kennedy, Rafferty, Naughton) are included? Good luck! John
