Hello,
I am researching my Shanahan lineage. For years it has stopped at William Henry Shanahan who listed John Shanahan and Ellen Morehead as his parents on a marriage license. William was born in Ireland in 1855 or 1856.
In my research, I found a John Shanahan whose father is also John Shanahan and was married to Margret Carrol (from the Irish National Archives). I don't know if this is a connection or not. I cannot find verification of WIlliam's birth or confirm which John Shanahan from Ireland is his father.
My 2 latest clues are a gravestone in Adare and an entry about a will of a John Shanahan with an Ellen as the executor.
