Would anyone have a connection to John Kilgallon and Anne Davey who married maybe early 1870's I would very much like to find the parents of them both but more so on the Kilgallon side as I'm trying to see if I can link them to my Kilgallon's

Here is the 1872 civil marriage record for John and Anne (first record).which shows their father's names.

I will check for other records later.

According to the 1872 marriage record, John Kilgallon was from Portavaud townland which is in Skreen civil parish. I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and there were two baptismal records in Skreen RC parish for a John Kilgallon with father John.

John Kilgallon baptized May 8 1835 father Charles and mother Bridget Meehan.

John Kilgallen baptized May 8 1841 father John mother Bridget Nalis

Possibly the 1841 record is for your line.

  • Many thanks to Rodger and Eileen a good chance that they link, although need more and can't just claim them,  My Michael KILGALLON born 1819 St John Sligo mother was a NEALIS. John born 1834 could be a Nephew or Cousin.

    Again thank you

  • I know I'm getting into the time where records are not available so I'm hoping someone may have a wand that they can wave for me. John Kilgallon [ the father noted in the marriage record ] could very well be my Michael's brother is there a way to find out please.

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and there were no Michael Kilgallon baptismal records until 1888. If he was baptized in 1819 then no record would be available because the St. John's records start in 1831.

I have Michael's Army records which tells me born 1819 St John Sligo, I have both his marriage records, one giving me his parents names. If the John who married Anne Davey..is linked to mine I'm at the same brick wall then and back to the same time with records not available.  Thanks for your help Rodger.
