Hello there,
Wondering if anyone is familiar with the Lardner's in Lisheenkyle West in the early 1900's.
Margaret Lardner married Thomas Gilmore from Glenescaul 9th June 1904. Their marriage record states that Margarets' father was Patrick (Lishenkyle). I can locate the family in 1901, where Patricks wife is listed as Honoria - although unsure if this is Margaret's mother as I cannot locate her birth record (approx 1886). The family do not appear in the area in Griffiths Valuation so may have moved here from a different location. Any information would help.
Thanks in advance

Ann:
The subscription site Roots Ireland has a February 26 1886 baptismal record for a Margaret Lardner with father Patrick Lardner and mother named Honoria (no last name shown). The sponsors were John and Bridget Kelly. I could not locate a civil record.
The family lived in Castlelambert a 588 acre townland in Athenry civil parish. I was not able to locate the marriage record. Margaret had a number of older siblings Mary 1869 Julia 1872 Bridget 1875 Patrick 1878 Honor 1881 It appears the maiden name for Honoria was Ruane or a variant of Ruane.
Patrick Lardner died in 1902 see third record

I did not find a death record for Honoria.

Thank you so much Roger,
I had come accross a civil record for Patrick Larner, parents Patrick & Honor Rooney in Castle Lambert and wondered if this was the right family.
Ancestry dont seem to have the baptisim record for Margaret.

Ann:
Ancestry used the parish registers on the NLI site and those registers end around 1881. Roots Ireland has access to later registers and updated the info to their data base.

Hi Ann - I hope I’m not too late to reach you. I’m Margaret Lardner and Thomas Gilmore’s great-granddaughter. Their daughter Delia is my grandmother and her daughter is my mother Noreen. My mother grew up in Lisheenkyle. I’m happy to share more info. Best, Michelle.
