Looking for information on John Mckaig born in Ireland in 1763 not sure when he came to the USA but died in TN 1833. Do not know what location of Ireland he was from. He married Ann Shaw and I am not sure if he was married in Ireland or USA. I do not have his parents names this is as far back as my research has taken me.

There are very few church records back to the 1763 time period and not surprisingly when I searched Roots Ireland, I got no record. This Irish Times web site http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/surname/ will show you where surnames were found in the mid-19th century which I know was way after John McKaig left Ireland. However, it does show that McKaig and its many variants were from Ulster and most likely from Co. Antrim or Co. Down.
