These Brodericks left Ireland for NYC around mid-nineteenth century.

Bill:
Do you know Catherine's maiden name? Year of marriage? Any children born in Ireland?

Thank you for responding. I do not know Catherine's maiden name. Catherine and James had a daughter also named Catherine who was born in 1848. I do not know if this daughter was born in Ireland or New York. I have a vague memory that they came from County Cork, but this could be wrong.

Bill:
I looked on two sites and only found one possible record in Cork and it was in 1840 so likely not your Catherine.

Have you considered DNA testing?

Interesting. I forgot that my DNA test showed in what regions my ancestors likely originated. DNA testing shows strongest evidence of recent ancestry in County Cork with County Kerry second. U.S. records could be screwed up b/c it all lists their daughter as being black.
