My Great Grandfather William Clifford (1861 to 1933) and his wife Ellen Kenny (1859 to ?) appear to have been born in Kildorrery (1911 English Census) they first appear in records in England living with a cousin of Williams, an E Creed, also from Kildorrery originally. I know William’s father was a Patrick Clifford who died some time before 1882, and Ellen’s father was Thomas Kenny who also died before 1882.
Is there any one with any further details about these familys in Kildorrery please?

Hi Chris
Greetings from Kildorrery. The only William Clifford on the Kildorrery Baptismal records between 1854 and 1896 is
25-12-1860 William to Patt Clifford and Hanora Fennell with sponsors John Graddy and Margaret Fox. Address Kildorrery.
Siblings:
31-12-1862 John with sponsors Patt Fox and Mary O'Brien Address Rockmills.
18-12-1864 Michael with sponsors Patt Creed and Julia Conroy. Address Rockmills
27-04-1867 Patt born to Patt Clifford and Hanora Veale (mistake??) sponsors John keeffe and Hanna Kenny. Address again Rockmills.
Cannot find any Kenny baptisms for this period. Hope this is helpful.

Thank you Brenda,
At least I’m looking in the right direction. Just need to find out more about Patt Clifford now.

Chris, did you ever learn more about your Ellen Kenny? My ggrandfather James Kenny, born c1818, married Ann Carroll from Kildorrery, but after years of research I still cannot find where he was born (son of John Kenny and Mary White). I keep an eye out for any Kennys who had some connection to Kildorrery. Jan

Jan,
I haven’t got very far with this, Thomas Kenny who died before his daughter Ellen was married in July 1882, was quite possibly married to Hanna, but apart from this I have drawn a blank. Chris
