Looking for any possible descendants of James Hogan and Elizabeth McLoughlin. Planning a trip to Clara, County Offaly once the COVID restrictions are lifted both in Ireland and the United States and would like to meet any cousins while in Ireland.

Can you provide more detail on James Hogan and Elizabeth McLoughlin. Were they married in Ireland? Years of birth? Any other information on the couple such as parents names? Thanks!

I have been unable to locate the marriage for James Hogan and Elizabeth McLoughlin. From what I have found, they had 4 children born in the parish of Clara & Horseleap. The children were: Anne (1860), Catherine (1862), James Joseph (1864-1936) and Rose (1867-1869). My Great Grandfather was James Joseph, and he immigrated to Dollar Bay, Michigan, United States circa 1889-1890. Most likely James was married before this marriage. I located the death registration for Elizabeth McLoughlin Hogan for 16 Apr 1867. They resided in Erryarmstrong. James was born circa 1826 and Elizabeth was born circa 1827.

I was also unable to find the marriage record and I expanded my search to include all of Ireland.
You mentioned that James was possibly married before. I saw the baptismal record for Anne and I'm wondering if the priest misheard McLoughlin and Coughlan
James died in 1900. See last record The informant was a son Patrick.

I was not able to find Patrick in the 1901 census in Erryarmstrong.
Keep us posted on your travel plans.
