Hello Everyone!

I'm looking for help to find the parents of John Donnelly - born 1770 Blackwatertown, Armagh, Ireland in order to continue building my family tree and I will be visiting Ireland in October of 2020 to connect with the land of my ancestors and would love any connections and or support in order to do so. He was married to Rebecca Young who was died Jan 17th 1837, they had a son Arthur Donnelly born March 25th 1797 in Armagh.

    Blackwatertown is in the parish of Clonfeacle. For a birth in the 1700s you need to rely on church records, where they exist.  You haven’t said what denomination the family was. The oldest records are the Roman Catholic which start in 1814. None of the other denominations has any records before the 1850s. The Church of Ireland records were all lost in the 1922 fire and the Methodists and Presbyterians don’t appear to have kept any early records. The RC parish records are on-line free on the National Library site:
