As you  may  see from my previous postings I have been searching for details of the emigration record of Anne (AKA Hannah or Hannie) Obrien from Carrick on suir to the USA for some time now and have recently found a record for a Hannah Obrien in the 1920 USA census for Pittsburgh Pennsylvania that looks very promising.

There is a Hannah recorded as living (aged 27 –the right age) in Philadephia Ward Pennsylvania with husband William Obrien (45).   Both of them shared the same surname – possible distantly related? Also living with them were  children – Mary (5) William (4) Emma (3)  Thomas (0) and Williams mother Mary (65 – widowed).

The census gives immigration dates for William 1907, (Mother) Mary 1911 and Hannah 1913. The date for Hannah looks to be possibly correct as she was a witness to her sister marriage in Carrick on suir on 23/11/1913.   Husband William and his Mother both came from Three Bridges which is very close to Carrick on suir and where i know there are srong family connections.   All their children were borne in Pennsylvania.  Quoted age for Hannah in the census is also about right as i know from records she was born in CoS in 1893

If this is the correct Hannah it narrows down the date of immigration as late Nov 1913 to end of December 1913 (assuming the information given on the census is correct.  From the ages of the children it suggests  she married William in USA soon after her arrival.   However using  Familysearch i cannot find any records of the marriage or the births of the children or any death / marriage records of the daughters between 1920 and 1940.  By the time of the 1940 census the household consisted of William and his 2 sons only.

I would like to make sure this is the correct Hannah before doing any more research but can anyone point me in any new  directions to search please, There is a family rumour that she went to Boston - but this may have been the immigration port.
