Hello, I am looking for two branches of my Mother's family(Mae Hogan) in Co. Clare. Her mother was born around Lehinch(Lahinch) Ennistimon area. Mary Ellen McNamara b 1889(my grmother) her sister Nan (b 1891)who owned and operated the Pub on Main St. in Lahinch( inherited from her cousin Mary Kate MacNamarab 1888), of the Lahinch County Club MacNamara's. Nan passed it on to my Uncle Sean Hogan( my mother's brother). Denis MacNamara b circa 1856 married Susan O'Connor b abt 1863 and married in 1886. Also in 1886 had son Thomas b1886.
Susan's sister Kate O'Connor married Denis's brother Michael MacNamara. Both were stone masons and built the pub. Family lore says they also went to Australia in the gold rush era , made some maony and came back to Lahinch and built the pub.  We believe they also built and owned the Avondale hotel in Lahinch. My have been a boarding house and used in famine times) In records when dealing with drink...they are listed as "spirit grocers".  From marriage records for Denis M and Susan O, I know their respective fathers names.
Thomas O'Connor for Susan possibly married to a Margaret O'Connor( maiden and married name same) but can find nothing further on them. Listed as farmer marriage records and could possible come from Liscannor area.
Denis & Michael MacNamara's father(according to marriage record) was Michael, also a stone mason. But that's all I can find for him. There are so many McNamaras in that area I don't know who goes with whom. Both fathers were dead by 1886, the year of Susan and Denis marriage.
I do know also that Kate O'Connor MacNamara( my maternal gr gr Aunt) had children...Mary Kate eventually owned the above mentioned pub (now the Corner stone grill in Lahinch)and married a 2nd cousin John (Jack) MacNamara I believe from Limerick..so again no name change for her like possible Margaret O'Connor-O'Connor. Mary Kate MacNamara's brothers Willy Mac was the golf pro at the Lahinch Country Club and John was pro at the Limerick CC. A cousin of theirs...Tom McNamara became famous here in the US as the first to hit a 70 in a pro tourney and helped to start Pro Golf in the US. he lived in Boston and then Westchester. I am trying to find the connections there as well. Denis and Michael may have come from Miltown Malby, but have found no records.  I was abale to find a ton of information on the golfing MacNamaras in the states.  So in short looking for Thomas O'Connor and spouse for pre 1886 his wife, Michael MacNamara...father to Denis and Michael and siblings etc.

I know it's a bit confusing but any hints would be greatly appreciated. I have done Ancestry and find my past for research. Thanks!
