Hi,

I have the baptism records for the 4 children of Thomas Richardson and Mary Fay(e) all at St Mary's Pro Cathedral from 1887 onwards. I can't however find a marriage for the pair.

Thomas was born c.1866 in Dublin. the 1901 census shows Mary as being born c.1860.

I have searched all the free websites such as irish genealogy, familysearch etc. with no luck.

Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Hi Rose,

    Thank you for your message.

Civil registration became mandatory in Ireland in 1864, so you should be able to find a civil record of their marriage. These are available from the GRO. Here are their contact details:

    General Register Office

    Government Offices

    Convent Road

    Roscommon

    Ireland

    Tel:+353 90 663 2900

    Locall:1890 25 20 76

    Fax:+353 90 663 2999

Generally it costs 4 euro for a copy of a cert, however as their may be some research invlved in your request it may be more.

  • Hi Emma,

Thanks for your reply and advice. I have asked for a search for this marriage at the GRO but had no success so feel I have come to the end of this search.

    Regards
