I found some info that my maternal great great grandfather Andrew Leamy and other family members left Templemore in May 1832, sailing from Cork to Quebec. I have not been able to find what ship they sailed on. Andrew's parents were Michael Leamy (not sure if he came to Canada or not) and Margaret Marshall (who did come to Canada).  Thanks for any info someone may know.

  • Just in case you don't have this info, rootsireland has a transcription for Andrew's baptism, as follows:

Baptized 17 April 1810 in RC parish of Drom, Tipperary. Parents Michael, Margaret Marshall.

  • Hello Barb,

To add to the information that Patricia kindly provided:

According to the National Library and Archives of Canada there are few passenger lists of immigrants arriving in Canada before the year 1865. See: https://is.gd/Z5aHOk

Also see https://is.gd/ybfmCh and https://is.gd/5Lugdz for passenger lists that may exist for ships arriving in Quebec before 1865.

The FamilySearch website has some very good information about pre-1865 Canadian passenger lists at: https://is.gd/cAntRL

You may also want to post a message to the Canada Message Board at Ancestry.com to see if anyone responds with more information: https://www.ancestry.com/boards/localities.northam.canada

    Best Wishes,
