The furthest back I can go is Michael McManus, m. Juila Sheeran?,and emigrated in the 1840's to Canada and then onto Wisconsiin in the 1850's. He is my gr.-gr.-granfather.
Any help is appreciated.

Kathleen:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I noticed that you have not received a reply. I did a quick search on the subscription site Roots Ireland but did not see a marriage record. However, the Kinawley RC parish marriage records are not available on Roots and they start around 1835 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0845 I also checked on another subscription site (FindMyPast.ie) and did not see a good record.
The surname McManus is very common in that area and in particular on the Fermanagh side. Below are links to the 1856 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for the Cavan side and the 1862 listing for Kinawley Fermanagh. By the way, there are no Sheeran records but I noticed some Sheenan records.

You may want to add Michael's story to our XO Chronicles site and possibly someone will see a connection. https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…
Have you considered DNA testing?

Roger,
Thank you very much for following up with me! I much appreciate the links you shared and will investigate. I'm in a bit of a rush as I am visiting Ireland 22 October -5 November.
But if nothing comes before that, I will have to visit again.
Thanks again

PS... I have done my brother has done DNA testing on Ancestry and also the Y-DNA test on Family Tree DNA. I have not found too much through that yet.
