Trying to locate my Irish relatives through my Great Grandmother's mother. Mary Frances Oliver DOB 03/07/1879

Family lore is that she was born in Ireland to a wealthy family and left with her future husband, Patrick Francis O'Leary (DOB 11/23/1880), but I am not finding creedence to this. I believe Mary may have been born in Ireland and traveled over with her family before settling into West Virginia. I can not locate anything before her marriage in 1911.

One possible link to Ireland is through Thomas Downes and Bridger Divine/Davern. I have seen them listed as potential parents many times and I think that they were both born in Kilteely Ireland in 1838 (Thomas) and 1845 (Bridget), but I am hitting walls. 

 

If no info on those people, does anyone have any recommendation I can use to possibly locate if Mary was indeed born in Ireland and not the US??

  • Thomas Downes is my great great grandfather, my great grandfather Patrick Leary married his daughter Mary in 1903. The we're two O'Leary (Leary as mine were called) in Carrickittle, Kilteely. Patrick Francis O'Leary was from the other family, I believe they were undertakers. I have a lot more information that I could share if it helps, just let me know. Adam O'Leary
