Hi,
I attach some detail in relationto a Pat Maxwell in Templemore, Co. Tipperary in 1847. A "Mary Maxwell" was baptised in Templemore on April 7th 1840 to Patrick Maxwell and Mary Walsh. No record found for a marriage of this couple.
There is also a record of a Patrick Maxwell being married to a Margaret Delahunty in Templemore in 1845 and another who was a British Soldier and a member of the Church of Ireland.
The surname "Maxwell" was in various parts of South Tipperary.

Hello Curious Aussie and welcome to Ireland Reaching Out
Maxwell is a great name in County Leitrim and I am going to forward to query your message to a lady I know who has a lot of research done on Maxwells in Leitrim.
Just one think - Have you done your DNA as this would at least be able to pin point what part of Ireland you should be searching in and this could save a lot of time an efford.
