I'm looking for confirmation on my gg grandfather, Malachi Kelly. As far as I can tell, he married Ellen Mahon (b. 1830, Mayo). Would it be possible to confirm his birth, and marriage to Ellen? Thank you.

The subscription site Roots Ireland has a number of Malachy Kelly baptismal records in the late 1820s. Some in Galway, two in Roscommon and one in Westmeath. We don't have parents names so we can't confirm any of the records. Also, many RC parishes in the west of Ireland do not have records back to 1830 or earlier.
I also did not find a Malachi Kelly marriage to a Mahon.
Have you considered DNA testing?

Thanks very much. I'll keep looking. I did an Ancestry DNA test, but have yet to discover how best to use it for genealogy. I'll keep researching that as well. Thank you. Scott Oliphint
