Hello,
Can anyone direct me to a map of Townlands in County Wexford? I can find a map of Civil Parishes, RC Parishes, Counties, Baronies etc. And I can find a LIST of townlands in the county. But I need a MAP of the townlands. I need to find out how close Baldwinstown and Newhouse and Ballyhack are.
Thank you for any assistance you can give me.

Ellen:
I don't think you will find a map of all the townlands in Co. Wexford.
Using Google Maps, Ballyhack is 20 miles west of Baldwinstown. There are two Newhouse townlands and two Newhouses townlands.in Co. Wexford. Do you know the civil parish for your Newhouse/Newhouses?

Baldwinstown and Newhouse border on each other.
See https://www.townlands.ie/wexford/bargy/kilcowan/kilcowan/baldwinstown/
Will check Ballyhack next.

Thank both of you so much.
The Civil Parish of Newhouse is Kilcowan.
I have a Brian Mealy who has a son in 1850 in Baldwinstown, County Wexford. Yet he is not in the Baldwinstown Griffiths in 1853. I do see a Mary Mealy in Griffiths, (Mary is the name of his wife, or would be widow), but she is living in Newhouse. Does it make sense that she would move a mile down the road if she lost her husband? She had four children under the age of 10 in 1853.
Or should I just assume that Brian had no taxable land, and that is why he is not in Griffiths? I understand that Baldwinstown would have been an urban location. Is that correct?
I believe Ballyhack, St. James & Dunbrody, is the original home of Brian Mealy. I believe he married Mary ONeil in Baldswinstown in 1843. I'm just trying to see how far away those towns were and whether it is logical to assume he travelled that far to marry.
I would welcome anyone's thoughts on all of this. I hesitate to make assumptions just to make the connections work.
Thank you for any assistance you can give me.

Ellen,
Yes, it is feasible that Mary moved after her husband died. Widows didn't always have the same access to land as men.
Brian Mealy married Mary O'Neil in Rathangan, not far from Baldwinstown/Newhouse, but their home addresses are not given. 20 miles is a good distance to travel for marriage in 1843, but not completely out of the question.
Baldwinstown would not be an urban area, there would be a village there but it wouldn't be considered urban.
According to the Valuation Office House Books there were two James Mealeys in Ballyhack in 1851 (http://census.nationalarchives.ie/search/vob/results.jsp?surname=&first…). This may or may not be some help.
Best wishes, Kieran
