I am looking for any information on Marcella Quinn bc 1816 in Durrow or thereabouts. Her parents were Patrick and Margaret Quinn. Patrick died before Marcella left for NSW as a Bounty Immigrant on the ship Sir Charles Napier in 1842.

Her first marriage was to Richard Botten in 1843. Her daughter Margaret married my greatgreatgrandfather John Joseph Jones in 1862. Margaret died after giving birth to her fourth son in 1868. Her husband John never remarried.

After Richard died Marcella married in 1853 Charles Burlen. Marcella was responsible for raising her 4 grandsons. She died on the 10th March 1897, a much loved grandmother.

  • hi, thank you for your reply. Unfortunately all I know about Marcella is in my originall entry request. She came to be employed as a dairymaid/domestic servant so I imagine she came from a rural background. Regards, Judy
