My 2nd Gt Grandmother was Maria Kilboy who Im certain was baptised at St Peters, Rocommon on the 7th September 1837. Any information regarding the Kilboys would be greatly appreciated. The fist census record I have of her is from 1851 when she is living in Sunderland, England with her parents Michael & Ann plus siblings. She married John Kelly in 1864 who was also Irish but I have no idea where abouts, I have hunch he was also from Roscommon.

Graeme:
I looked at the St. Peter's Athlone parish register for September 7 1837 and there is a Maria Kilboy/Kilroy baptismal record but the father is Laurence and the mother Mary Galvin. Is this the Maria you are researching? See link.

Graeme,
Attached some information on Killboy/Kilboy - Sunderland and Roscommon.
Do you have the marriage record for Mary/Maria Killboy and John Kelly.
It should their fathers' name.

Hello McCoy
Yes that is the Maria I am researching. I think I may have the wrong parents for Mary Kelly as the census states her parents where Michael & Ann, her siblings were Bridget, Howard & John and the were all from Roscommon. Mary was born about 1837.
Thank ou for your help.
