Looking for any Currans that might be related to my grandmother, Mary Curran. Oral history says she was from Spiddal. She immigrated to Boston, MA. and married Patrick Wallace. Oral history says he was from Aran Islands. Her mother was Catherine (Kate) coyne/Kyne. Her father was James Curran. In research, I did find out she had a sister, Elizabeth and brother, Mark. Both died very young in Massachusetts. Mary would have been born about 1890/1891 If her marraige cert. info is correct. Thanks for any help.

I'm struggling to find baptismal/birth records but is this 1901 census record for your family?

Roger,
The census could be my Curran family?? I did know that Kate was a young widow. This census puts Mary, my grandmother's birth about 1887. Her marraige cert. puts her birth about 1890.Her death cert. at about 1891. I know of a brother, Mark and sister Elizabeth and a sister Annie. Mark and Elizabeth passed away very young in Boston, MA. Annie also immigrated to Massachusetts as when Mary came over she gave her sister's name as a sponsor. I do not know about John and Maggie on this census. I hesitate to put this info in my tree as I am not possitive, but it surely looks promising. People have copied my tree information and I know there is no connection.
I believe the marraige is correct. My dad said his mom was from Spiddal and the last name Kyne would be a match.
Thanks so very much for you quick response.

The townland on the marriage record (Bohoona) matches the townland on the 1901 census so I know this is the correct family. Don't hesitate to add these names to your tree.
