Hello, I am looking for any information about the marriage and family of Mary Ryan (native of Ennis b. abt 1856) and William Love (Scottish b. abt 1840) - married approx. 1876. According to William Love's death certificate they were married in Kilkee. He was 35 and she was 19 years old.
William and Mary left Ireland and emigrated to Australia with a son James Joseph. They spent many years in South Australia where my Grandmother was born. I have tried to find their marriage details but to no avail. Mary was the daugther or Michael Ryan and Nancy Kane. Her death certificate only states County Clare as place of birth but family members believe she was born in Ennis. I do not know any more about Mary Ryan's family, how many siblings she had or when her parents died. I only know that her father Michael Ryan was a farmer as recorded on her death certificate.
I am hoping that someone living in Ennis or surrounds may have knowledge of this family and can shed some more light them me. Many thanks.
Rita

Rita,
Civil registration in Ireland is from January 1st 1864. Prior to that marriages and births were recorded by the various church Authorities.
What year was James Joseph born and the year of migration.
The name "Michael Ryan" was quite common in the period you have stated. Church records in County Clare are only partially online.
A check for a William Love in County Clare 1870's did not show any result. Likewise with James Joseph Love.
