I am stuck trying to find information on my GGGgrandfather
His name was Matthew Walsh (e) he married Margaret Whaling. In Ireland probably pre 1790
I only know the name of one of his sons James Walsh who married Ann Condron in Ireland. James was born in Kilkenny c1815
They had children
Patrick born 1837 Kilkenny did not emigrate to Australia
John, born 1837 Kilkenny did emirate to Australia
Matthew born 1840 Kilkenny was transported to Australia for not bending a leg to monarchy
Anne born 1841 Kilkenny did emigrate to Australia
Martin, born 1842 Kilkenny did emigrate to Australia.
My questions are based in Kilkenny but it would not surprise me to find that Matthew and Margaret lived close to one of the many counties and were close enough to cross. With some boarders it was possible to just walk accross a bridge and they were in the next county. That is just a possibility
I would very much appreciate any snippets that might lead me to Matthew Walsh and Margaret Whaling who were named as parents on the death certificate of James who died in Sydney N.SW Sydney Australia.
My next brick wall is did James son of the first Matthew and Margaret Whaling have siblings. If so what were their names.
I haven't been able to find out where Matthew and his wife Margaret Whaling died and were buried.
I did have connection to a priest in the area and he said that Matthew was buried in the churchyard with his wife Catherine or Caroline. he thought.
Another puzzle. Probably the wrong Matthew.
Even some small piece of information could set me on a new path that could produce something solid. to work on.
Thank you for reading this and I hope there may be some suggestions of where t o look next.

Lists 1 James son of Matthew and Margaret bapt. 1813. Mothers surname not listed. A search 1813+/- 10 years of 1813 gets 4 matches for children born to a couple of these names. You can experiment with letters of the alphabet and date ranges to work out the names of these children and years of baptism. It is time consuming but can save you buying transcripts or paying to view search results.
Lists many Walsh. Use Ma* to bring up variants of Matthew/Mathew/Matty etc.
