Hi. Im tracing my family history and reaching out to anyone who may be connected or able to help. From my research, my grandad grew up in Raphoe. He was an amazing piper with the convoy pipe band and then joined the army during WW2. He was married to a jeanie cowan, they had 3 children, but one died young and is buried in convoy.(not having any luck in finding that) there is also a Lena mcbride who was a piper also and was the assistant head teacher at convoy school. My grandad had a brother called william, he married a hannah but moved to culcavey, Hillsborough. He also had another brother called john (Johnnie) and a sister called Bella (her kids are Isa, gary,Billy and margaret.
If this rings bells with anyone i would be delighted for any information or pointing in the right direction.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Can you provide your grandfather's given name? Did the marriage occur 1944 or earlier? Was Jean Ms. Cowan's official given name? We only have access to civil marriages up to 1944 at the free site www.irishgenalogy.ie We have access to births up to 1919 and deaths up to 1969.
Can you confirm that your grandparents and his siblings are deceased?
Thanks!
