Hello,
Without much more information than my grandfather’s name, Michael James McManus, I’m beginning a search for any information to learn more about his family.
I do know that he was from Leitrim, eventually married Mary Dunn(e) of Fetherd, Co.Tipperary, moved to Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and settled in Worcester, MA. I do not know if they married in Ireland, or Worcester,MA.
I know he had a brother named Peter, sisters Winifred and Elizabeth, who also moved to the States. and other siblings whose names I do not know.
I know it is not much information, but my Dad, James Edward McManus, passed before I realized how important it would become to me, to know my family’s heritage.
Any information at all, even the smallest detail, will be so very appreciated!

    I did some searching on the subscription site Roots Ireland and may have some leads on your family. I located two Winifred Mc Manus baptismal records in 1887 and 1891 with the same names for parents and both in Killanummery RC parish. Therer appear to be 15 children of this marriage but I'm wondering if there were two couples with the same names. Note I located a baptismal record for Michael in 1870.
