Hello,
I posted before about my relatives but I found additional information and now I have more questions.
I found some info on my 3rd Great-Grandfather Dennis McNamara, who came from Kildorrery, Cork to Nova Scotia in 1830. He had a brother named Cornelius who was a sponsor of Dennis' daughter Elizabeth when she was baptised. On Cornelius' death record, it listed their parents, David and Mary McNamara. Cornelius was also listed as being from Kildorrery. I don't have a maiden name for Mary, or dates, but Cornelius was born in 1809 and Dennis 1802.
I found another possible relative, a Catherine Ellen McNamara, born 1805. She married a Hugh McCusker and their daughter Sarah Ann emigrated with an unamed Uncle McNamara to Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, where my McNamara's lived. Sarah Ann married in 1857 there.
I haven't had any luck finding cemetery/death records or locations for David/Mary McNamara, or any info really on Sarah's parents, just names.
Thank you for all your help!
-Fiona

Do you know what religious denomination your McNamara family were ?
Very few Catholic parishes in Ireland have records back to the very early 1800s, unfortunately baptism records for the parish of Kildorrery start in 1824, so a little too late for your Cornelius or Dennis. The date is a little bit earlier than many parishes - the average starting date for Catholic records in Rural areas is about 1830. The marriage records for Kildorrery RC parish cover back to 1803.
A quick check of early McNamara baptisms show at least separate families a Denis McNamara and wife Joanna Haly/Healy, and a second couple Denis McNamara with wife Catherine Kelly, with children baptised in the parish between 1828 and 1838.
The earliest McNamara marriage in Kildorrery RC parish is 1805 and the next few up to 1829 are all female.. Margaret, Ellen, Margaret, Anne Catherine and then a David in 1832.Shane Wilson, IrelandXO Volunteer ☘

Hi Shane,
Thank you for getting back to me, and researching!
My McNamara family are all Roman Catholic.
How can I get info on the marriages/baptisms you listed? I've looked at some of the Kildorrery RC Parish info, but a lot of it is hard to read.
Thanks again,
Fiona
