Hi there
My family were McPartlands/McPartlans/McPartlins who moved from Leitrim to Scotland after the Famine and changed their name to McFarlane along the way.
My GGGrandfather was Terence McFarlane/McPartland and he was born in the 1840s to Patrick McPartland and Bridget Phee. He shows up in Stirlingshire, Scotland in 1871 and married Mary McGran there in 1873, but I'm not sure when he moved over. Terence's Irish-born siblings that I know include Charles, John and James. Going by DNA connections on Ancestry.com, there also seem to be lots of connections to an Owen McPartland (Patrick's brother or son?), who was born 1827 and a Michael McPartland 1929. Kiltyfeenaghty also seems to have some significance.
If any of this rings any bells, I would be really grateful. In particular, I'm trying to figure out when Patrick was born, who his parents were and what his relationship to Owen was as I feel this might unlock a lot of other stuff.
Fingers crossed and thanks in advance.
Cheers
Andy

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Unfortunately, the RC records for Inishmagrath RC parish have a big gap between 1840 and 1880. Records are available from 1834-1839. I did find two records which might have a connection if the mother was Bridget Padin or Padden rather than Phee. See the records below from the subscription site Roots Ireland.
The 1857 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Inishmagrath civil parish does show a Patrick McPartland in Killyfeenaghty Glebe townland https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/leitrim/inishmagrath.htm

Hi Andy, my husbands McFarlane/McPartlan, McFarland side of the family were from Ireland. Took me 8 years to find where they actually came from. All around Innismagrath.I was able to go back 2 generations after that in the last couple of month. Pretty excited about it

Hello Candy, I don't know of any specific McPartlin family but they surrounded my Cassidy in Tullyveane and over the years of research I have made contact with other McPartlins who went to Scotland.
