The towland of Garafin is in the census of 1901 and 1911 listed as Garrivinnagh Rosmuc where there are a number of Conroy familiea listed. 

In house 11 in the 1901 census for example there is a widow Mary Conroy aged 50 with six children all except John are gone in1911.

House 12 in 1901 had the family of Colman Conroy ,wife Mary and seven children, they are listed in house 2 in 1911 as having had 10 children

House 5 in 1901 has patrick Conroy with a wife Bridget and daughter Julia married to Peter Grealish, this is house 9 in 1911.

The main businessman in the area was PD Conroy and his family, is in house no 1 in 1911 and 13 in 1901 but this man's mother was O Malley amd most likely not directly connected.

There is no Michael Conroy listed in this area within the age range of a man born in 1857 about 44 in 1901 or 54 in 1911
