Hi - i am visiting Limerick around 3rd week of August and plan to visit Mt St Lawrence Cemetery. Looking to find certain of my ancestors' graves. My Great Grandfather was Michael Kelly (B1857-D1897), he was a shoemaker who lived at Arthurs Quay, married to Mary Gallagher in 1892 . i have a death record showing DOD Feb 27 1897, died at Limerick Work House, of Pneumonia. I could not find any information regarding where he is buried, but certain of his relatives are buried at Mt St Lawrence, e.g., his father John, certain siblings and his brother John Kelly (1855-1928) and his family are buried there. Any help finding his gravesite would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I'm not sure if we can have a volunteer available in Limerick city when you visit but please fill out this form regarding your trip to Ireland. Thanks!

Hi,
Are you familiar with these websites?

My family were farmers and landowners. Many of them are buried with loved ones in unmarked graves.

I looked but did not find a record for Michael's burial and I wonder if he was buried at the workhouse cemetery or perhaps elsewhere ie St Bridgets Cemetery ( This cemetery was used for burials from the workhouse)

Thanks everyone for the responses. Sorry for the late reply, just seeing these now. It is very much appreciated. Eileen - it does seem possible that Michael Kelly was buried at the workhouse cemetery or St Bridget's Cemetery. I suppose there are no records of the burials from either location? thanks again for your help with this. Regards, Jim
