I am looking for information about Michael OConnor and Julia Sullivan who where married on 14 Jan 1865 in Glin.
They left for America in 1866 arriving in August of that year. I would like to find out about both Michael and Julia's family in Ireland.
They are my 2ed great grandparents. I would love to know about the family in Ireland and I will share about the family here in Maine.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
There are a few complications which will delay getting more info on your family. First, the Glin RC records start in 1851 and since Julia was likely born in the 1840s, her baptismal record is not available. Second, Roots Ireland has civil marriage data for Co. Limerick but for the Glin area the records start in 1868 (not sure why). The civil marriage record will show where the couple lived and the names of their fathers. Currently, civil marriage records from 1870-1941 are online at www.irishgenealogy.ie and the records for 1864-1869 are expected to be placed online in the near future. Third, the surnames of Connors/O'Connor and Sullivan are common in Kilfergus civil parish.
Below is the 1865 marriage index record. You can write to the General Register Office in Ireland and get a copy of this record for around four euros plus postage or you can wait until the record is placed online for free. I can assist you with the process of getting a copy of the marriage record.
Let me know if you have additional info or questions. You may also want to consider autosomal DNA testing.

Thank you Roger, very much appreciated.
I know the Julia married Michael OConnor on 14 January 1865 as found the written record.
By chance do you any of the family in Ireland.
I have taken the DNA testing with Ancestry and match to John Cornelius O'Connor, their son and my great grandfather.
Thank you again and let me know if you need any help with the American side of the family.

You may want to add your Ancestry DNA data to Gedmatch www.gedmatch.com Gedmatch is a volunteer run site where you can load your DNA data and see if you match someone who tested with another company (and also loaded their data to Gedmatch).
Let me know if you need further assistance.
