In search of any info or relatives of Michael and Patrick Redden or Reddin. They immigrated to the US via New Orleans and settled in Iowa in 1847-1848. They may have had a sister named Mary who married a man named Patrick McMahon in Ireland. Mary and Patrick also immigrated to the US and to Iowa around 1850. Any info with an Ireland connection would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and the subscription site FindMyPast.ie and did not locate the marriage record for Mary Reddin and Patrick McMahon. I also tried to find possible baptismal records pre-1850 for any children of Mary and Patrick but again no records.
In the mid-19th century, the surname Reddin/Redden/Reddan were mainly found in Co.Tipperary and Co.Clare with a few families in Cork and Limerick.
The other complication is that the surname could have been Reddin, Redden or Reddan. Reddan was more common in Co. Clare. Reddin/Redden more common in Co. Tipperary.
My advice would be to test your DNA and pursue close matches to see if you can establish a Reddan/Reddin/Redden connection which might point to a more specific area in Co. Clare/Co.Tipperary.
