John Moran and Bridget Norton were married 22 Oct 1852.

I believe John Moran could have siblings called Thomas, Michael and Mary,

I believe Bridget has siblings called Thomas, Patrick, William, Mary and John.

Children I can find of John and Bridget are:-

John Moran born 1854

William Moran born 1856

Thomas Moran born 1857  (married Martha Amy Butler 24 Feb 1891 in Queensland Australia). Died Bundaberg Qld Australia 18 Dec 1923

Patrick Moran born 1861 (married Mary Hayes 10 Jan 1888 in Cairns Queensland Australia). Died Brisbane 15 Sep 1948. Buried in Rockhampton Qld Australia (my GGFather)

Mary Moran born 1865.

I am looking for any information at all on John Moran, Bridget Norton, John Moran Jnr, William Moran, Mary Moran and their families.

Thankyou for any help.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I located the civil birth record for Mary Moran https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_retur…; and the family lived in Ardnagragh Digby townland in Drumraney civil parish. I could not locate the record for Thomas in 1867.

I did find the death record for Bridget in 1897 https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu… I could not find a death record online for John but if he died before 1880 a death record is not online at this time.

There were a number of Moran families in Ardnagrah Digby townland in the 1901 census. I found this reocrd for a John and Mary both single.

In 1911, I located a record where John had possibly married.  http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Westmeath/Ardnagragh/A…

You would need to do more searching.

  • Thanks for your input Roger. I have suspected that John and Bridget Moran's son, John, may  have married a Catherine Farrell. The document you provided shows a Garrett Farrell dying the same day as Bridget Moran. I can not be certain if either of these are my John or Bridget. I cannot open the Mary link but I have her baptism and all the other children from  NLI. On a side note, I don't suppose you have relatives that came from County Cavan? I am searching for my McDonnell ancestors there.  Thank you again for your help.

My grandfather came from a small village in East Mayo called Carracastle. I just commented on your McDonald message. Have you had an autosomal DNA test?
