Hello,

I am searching for siblings of my 3rd great grandfather Patrick Mullaly. He was born around 1832 in Ireland - best guess is Galway, Longford, or maybe Roscommon.  His parents may have been Martin and Bridget....or his dad may have been Owen.  My DNA matches connect to relations in Canada as well as out West in the USA in Nebraska/Iowa area married into the Barrett family.

I have him in the 1860 and 1870 census records in NYC but he disappears after that and I have no information before 1860.  He was married to Ann Fagan and after she died to Bridget McGuinness.  One of his sons was John Joseph Mullaly who was born in NYC - he was my great grandfather and my grandfather was John Thomas Mullaly, also born in NYC.

Any information that anyone could find would help me to continue building my tree - I have hit a wall on this line!

Thanks very much,

James Fallon

    Hello again!

I found this record on the subscription site Roots Ireland. Also found a John in 1831 and Ellen in 1840 with same parents. Did not find a marriage record for Martin and Bridget.

  • I have not worked on my Mullaly side for a while.  My great-grandfather was Michael Mullaly a Fall River, Massachusetts, Policeman. born 1846/48 died 1908.

His father possibly also Michael Mullaly died in Massachusetts 1868, possibly in Taunton or Fall River.  I believe this Michael came from Ireland around 1840's. I would love to find more information on their travels from Ireland to Massachusetts. I think he came here with brothers from Templemore.

My Grandfather, the policeman, had 3 sons, James, John, and Arthur, and one sister Mary Ellen.

Does anybody have any interesting details?

I checked the subscription site Roots Ireland. Templemore parish has 26 Mullally baptismal records. Most of the records were females and there were no Michael records. Templemore records go back to 1807. Likely your Michael was from a different parish.

You may want to consider DNA testing.
