Trying to find out more about my great-great-grandparents, Michael Murphy and Margaret Lennon (or possibly Leonard). Both were born in 1830 and were from Ballybay. They married in 1852 or 1853 and went first to Scotland in 1855 and then lived out their lives in Iowa in the United States. The only clue we have to parentage is that Margaret's father may have been named Frank. Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately, the RC records for Tullycorbet/Ballybay RC parish do not begin until 1862 so if Michael and Margaret were baptized and married in that parish, records will not be available. A search of the subscription site Roots Ireland did not locate a possible record. Civil registration did not begin until 1864.

I also looked in the Griffiths Valuation records from 1860-1861 but did not find a Francis Lennon or Leonard in either Tullycorbet or Ballybay civil parishes.

You may want to consider adding Michael and Margaret to our XO Chronicles site https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database  Possibly someone will see a connection.
