Looking for any information regarding my ancestors John O'Brien bap. abt.1809 and his wife Mary Ann Byrne . They lived on Spike Island until 1845/6 and had a least 3 children bapt. there Catherine 27/9/1841, Mary Ann 1844 and William.
John was a shoemaker and the family came to Portsmouth with the Navy/Army in 1846 when Spike Island ceased to be a military base.
John was born in Queenstown - Mary- ann in Dublin.
