My gggrandfather Patrick Dogherty/Doherty son of Patrick Dogherty/Doherty and Jane Meehan was born abt 1806 in Ballintra according to his marriage record. Some records say he arrived in St John New Brunswick,Canada with a sister, Sarah in 1818-1821. Patrick married Harriet Hughson in 1828 and Sarah married Henry Corry in 1828 in St John,NB.
Would love to know about his parents and other siblings if there were any .

It is very difficult to find RC church records in Co. Donegal prior to 1850. The information I have indicates that Ballintra/Drumhome RC records start in 1866. So we will not be able to locate any records on his family. In addition, Doherty is a very common surname in Co. Donegal.
