I searches the Land Tax rolls . . ." Tithes Applotment (1823 - 1837 ) "  . . . nothing . . . 

I did find the family . . . in  " Griffiths Valuations "   (1847 - 1864)  . . . (see below)

For Offaly . . there are NO Census records . . . prior to 1901 . . .

Eamonn and Miriam, thank you very much for this information!  I knew that any information would be sparse for that timeframe but what you have provided me may be very useful and I appreciate your effort.  I just returned from a week long bus tour of central Ireland.  It was my first visit there and unfortunately we only came as close to Lusmagh as Shannonbridge.  We loved the trip and already making plans for a return visit.  Thanks again - Bill
