Patterson and Richardson from Bawnboy / Newtown Gore, Leitrim, Ireland

From the 1855 marriage certificate, Robert Patterson looks to have come from Doochorran in the parish of Drumreilly. Griffiths Valuation for 1856 lists his father George as having plots 18 & 19 which were a total of 24 acres.

I know that George Patterson name was Jane ? and Frances Richardson's parents were John Richardson and Anne ? Any ideas how to find their maiden names?

It’s not our policy on IRO to directly give out details of living people but a search of the Irish phone book should enable you to find a Richardson there still:

The early Church of Ireland records for both Newtowngrange and Drumreilly both appear to have been destroyed in the 1922 fire, which may make tracing the family backwards rather difficult. It may make finding the wives maiden names tricky.

Hi Danny, Robert Patterson married my Great Aunt Mary Jane (Molly) Scott born 1884, on my paternal side. Her Sister Dinah Florence Scott born 1892 a Robett Richardson b 1879  from Newtowngore. On my maternal side of my tree (Bothwell) I've found a lot of families married into each other, where a lot of Bothwell's then married Richardson's. It still in happening within the two families.

I am searching for family of Robert Patterson and Fanny Richardson, my gggrandparents. My great grand mother was Margaret Victoria Patterson born abour 1861. She came to the USA about 1887 and married James Morrow,also from Carrigallen. In 1997 my  brother and I visited Ireland and visited the Patterson farm and met Derrick and Robert Patterson. I believe that one of Maggie's brothers also came to the USA and located in San Francisco. He kept regular contact with family until 1906. Belief that he perished in the earthquake. I heard that she had a sister who migrated to Australia. One who went to London and two brothers who remained in Ireland and became members of the Royal Ulster Constabulatory.
