My 6X Great Grandfather was Peter Mooney born [according to the 1841 Census, Liverpool, Lancashire] in Ireland.
I have only the 1841 and 1851 Census information to go on. His age on both gives him a birth year of 1809 and his trade was that of a Smith / Blacksmith. The trade is also endorsed on his 3 Childrens marriage the last being 1869.
Can you give me any pointers to where he may have been born.

From looking at this site, it appears that your ancestors may have come from Offaly?
