Hi can anyone help. I researched my fathers family and found a Phillips family in Egool (Ugool) kilmovee in 1841 census then the following 2 census nothing was recorded for that place. Then they appeared again. There are Phillips in nearby places but not sure if they are related.
My fathers name: Michael Joseph Phillips dob 1920 dod 1967 Lancashire UK
His father Michael Phillips dod 1969 cloonfane late of Ugool and mother Anne ( Annie) Phillips nee Lynch.
Also would anyone know which school/church they would have attended.
Any help would be appreciated.

Shirley:
Can you clarify if your dates are 1800s or 1900s?

Shirley:
My McDonnell grandfather was born in the Carracastle area. He emigrated to Philadelphia. Here is some history about Carracastle schools. The RC church in Carracastle is St. James and the current church building goes back to 1878 but there was a chapel before 1878.

Regarding Kilmovee, there were schools in Kilmovee and Glann in the 19th century and maybe others, The RC church in Kilmovee is the Church of the Immaculate Conception. There are also subordinate churches/chapels in Kilkelly, Urlaur and Glann.
I also have Phillips ancestors. They lived in Cloontia which is a small village in Mayo close to the Sligo border. Cloontia is about 3 miles north of Carracastle.
