Have looked through Family search and find no records for the years that I need. Am wondering if there are any local resources. The one church with any information was built after he came to USA.

I have no clue, but know they came from Straolar, Donegal County. Not sure of religion even, but need a very early chuch as James was born in 1711.

You offered hardly any information and are talking about the 1700's. Maybe start with the 1900's and work backwards (and also provide that info to us).
