Quigley Family in Enniskerry

The subscription site Roots Ireland had a lot of info on this family. Turns out there were at least elevin children and Ellen was born 31 years after the parents married. See transcriptions below of the baptismal records and the marriage record. I was unable to find a civil marriage record for Ellen. I assume she married someone wih thr surname Hilliard?

Many thanks indeed for the information which I have added to my records.

I am not convinced these children all belonged to the Quigley/Hicks marriage - in fact they may be the product of 2/3 marriages as there appear to be several James Quigleys and Eliza/Elizabeths knocking about at the time.

Eleanor Hilliard Quigley moved to Belfast and married Robert Chambers in St Thomas CoI Church in 1886. The marriage index gives her father as "James Quigley: Farmer" and her birth location as County Wicklow (confirmed in the 1901 and 1911 Census of Ireland). Her death certificate, in 1912, gives her name as Eleanor Hillard Chambers - tho' the name has passed down the family as Hilliard. I do wonder if the Ellen Quigley you list and my Eleanor H Quigley are the same - I have never seen or heard her referred to in the family as Ellen so it does give me doubts. Having said that a birth certificate for Eleanor H Quigley does not appear to exist in Wicklow.

All a bit of a conundrum!!

I thought it was unusual to have a 29 year gap between the 1831 child and Ellen in 1860. Unfortunate that the mother's maiden name was not reflected in the baptismal records so you could see if Hicks was the name in all of the records.
