Hi all

I'm hoping that someone may be able to help me.  Apparently there is a reference to my family on page 158 of this book.  It is not a title that I can pop down to the library to get, and I don't know how much or how little information is there.  But if anyone happens to have a copy and could scan page 158 for me I would be very grateful.

  • Thanks for your reply.  I suspect there will be limited information of value to my genealogical research in the book, so I will try and locate a library copy in the first instance.

    I took a quick look at this book today. It is Copy Right.

    The following O'Shaughnessy names are on page 158:

    Elizabeth, Born 1881, Bridget Born 1883 and Mary Born 1884. All three are Sisters of Mercy Nuns and went to Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.

    A Kathleen Born 1886 was a Sister of Mercy Nun in the Limerick Diocese. She died in 1983.

    They are from Kilcornan area of County Limerick and you should be able to access their family history at www.irishgenealogy.ie - free site.

    Shaughnessy's are recorded in the book as: Daniel - Mourne, Kilcornan,, Sean - same, Richard - Shanbally, Mary Bridget - Ballinamona.

    Adare Parish: Daniel Ranaghan married Maria O'Shaughnessy on September 5th 1968 - Page 172.

    Index page 255 has 20 Saughnessy and page 256 has 19. The first names are repeated
