I'm aware of a plaque erected to the memory of Letitia Catherine & Esther Dodwell who died in 1909/1910 (have death records, etc) in this church.
If anyone lives near there, I would appreciate their assistance in getting a photograph of the plaque. I'm doing some work for their descendent & would love to show him a photo of it. I'm in Dublin, so not easy for me to get there!

Hi Claire, our volunteer passed it twice last Saturday. He is a good drive away but is working on finding a person closer to get the picture for you.

Claire,
Leave that with me.
I'll go to that church.
Can you posts as much information as possible as to the location of the plaque so I'll know I have the right one.

Thank you very much, Mick
It's a joint plaque, as far as I know.
Letitia Catherine Dodwell died 23/03/1909
Her daughter-in-law Ester Maria Dodwell, née Nicodemi died 12/01/1910.
They were the mother and wife of Malby Crofton Dodwell and he is presumably the person who put up the plaque.
I'm sorry I don't know more about where it is in the church.

Hi Claire,
I drove up to Coolaney at the weekend to the church you spoke about.
I found it easily but unfortunately, it was locked. It was lashing down so I had a look to see if the plaque you spoke about was by any chance outside but, no. I had a quick look around the graves to see was there any information on the Dodwells that you mentioned but couldn't see anything.
There was another building across the road too that looked like it belonged to the church but no one there either.
I took a spin into Coolaney then but as it was a Bank Holiday, there was no one around.
I took a few photos but unfortunately could not find your plaque.

Hi Mick,
Church Services are apparently held at 10.00 a.m.on Sundays. If you contact the Bishop's House, Breaffy, Castlebar - email bishop@tuam.Anglican.org you may be put in contact with the Church key holder in Coolaney to arrange a suitable time for you to visit

Hi Mick,
I thought I had replied to your last yesterday but it doesn't seem to have saved.
I appreciate your efforts. Maybe the plaque is gone now.
Many thanks,
Claire

Hi McCoy,
Thank you for that. Breaffy is right beside me here in Castlebar so I'll contact the bishop there.

Hi Claire,
If the plaque was on outside of church, it is no longer there.
If it was on inside, it probably is there.
What I'll do is, if I'm going to be around there again, I'll contact the bishop and see if I can get keyholder, or else I'll go with the time on a Sunday mentioned by McCoy, and look in when it's open.
Thanks,
Mick

Hi Claire, your query was from quite a while back but I wondered if you ever got a photo of the Dodwell plaque. Michael
